Stegasaurus Pasties and English Muffin Pizzas were big hits again this week. Â I have a stash of uncooked pasties in my freezer, ready to go. Â You could do the same with the pizzas if you wanted to. The kids could have re-heated them in the class-room microwave , but they all chose to eat them cold. Â The rest of the week they requested Vegemite, Jam or Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, boring I know, but it’s what they wanted. Â Wednesday was one of their boring sandwich days so I left a little surprise of corn chips and salsa in their lunch boxes. Â Very, very popular. Â I used low salt, organic plain corn chips to make it a suitable snack for my little diabetic.
The Tropical Muffins all disappeared with even The Vegemite Kid eating his, and I thought they were going to fight over the last of the Cranberry and Apple biscuits, though I suggest you do eat them within the recommended four days. Â I kept mine in an air-tight container in the fridge (we like our cookies cold-weird, I know), and by the end of the week they were quite soft but still edible. Â There was only one left anyway, and I made a double batch. Â We also had some Blueberry Muffins left over from our Father’s Day Picnic last weekend.
There is an abundance of beautiful fruit at the moment and this week the kids requested strawberries, grapes and watermelon, watermelon, watermelon. Â An indication in our house that Christmas is coming – quickly! Â Only one more Term of school to go!
