Good News!  No big failures this week.  Everything went smoothly, the only hiccup was warm yoghurt.  It’s starting to get warmer here, and even though I placed  freezer blocks in their lunch boxes, The Vegemite Kid complained that his yoghurt was warm.  I guess it is time to start freezing their yoghurt again.  I take it out of the freezer the night before, keep it in the fridge until they leave for school the next day, and by lunch time it is soft enough for them to eat.  If your kids like frozen yoghurt during summer, just leave it in the freezer until you pack their boxes in the morning.
This week’s highlights were:
Chicken Salad Sandwiches
Fresh Orange Muffins
Strawberry Muffins
Butter Biscuits
Chocolate Muesli Bars
Mini Pizzas (recipe coming next week on Cheat’n Tuesday)
Premium Crackers with Vegemite
Cheese Sticks
Apples, Bananas and Oranges
Yoghurt (with frozen blueberries sprinkled on top for my Fruit Bats)
Please remember, my kids didn’t take all of this in their lunch boxes, they got to choose from these items, and these were the most popular. Â Just thought I should highlight that point so you didn’t think all they ate were muffins and muesli bars. Â Our school is pretty good at enforcing the sandwiches and fruit first policy.
